A yardage total that disagrees with the supplier's quote, a density value you think should differ, a truckload count that doesn't match the delivery, a calculator you wish existed — this page routes your message to the person who can re-run the numbers and verify them against the published data, not a form that vanishes into a queue.

Calculator Support

Volume & Tonnage Help

A yardage total that disagrees with your supplier's quote? A tonnage figure that looks too heavy for the truck you rented? Send the inputs you entered — each area's shape and dimensions, the material, the compaction buffer preset, truck or bag size, and units — along with the result you expected versus the one shown.

Report a Formula or Data Error

The site computes each shape in cubic feet and converts at 27 cu ft per yard, halves the bounding box for the slope wedge, takes π(R² − r²) for rings, averages top and base widths for trench sections, and weighs the order with loose-state densities from 1.0 t/yd for compost mix to 1.72 t/yd for clay-heavy fill. If any output or table value disagrees with those sources, send the page URL and the exact numbers.

Feature Requests & Ideas

Want a gravel or crushed-stone mode, a mulch depth helper, a custom-density field for a supplier's tested material, or a printable estimate sheet for the job binder? We build from what homeowners, landscapers, and grading contractors actually need at the pile — including real stories from projects that came up a truckload short.

Answered Already, Most Likely

Most dirt questions are covered somewhere on the site. These are the destinations that resolve the majority of emails — worth a look before you write. The fastest path to a verified order quantity is usually one of these pages.

What to Include for a Fast Reply

  • ✓Browser & device (for UI glitches)
  • ✓The shape and dimensions of each area
  • ✓The material selected and the buffer preset
  • ✓Truck size, bag size, and any $/yd price or ZIP
  • ✓The result you expected vs. the result shown
  • ✓A screenshot of your calculator inputs

A screenshot of your calculator inputs halves the back-and-forth.

What Happens After You Hit Send

No ticket numbers, no canned macros. Here is the path a message takes from your outbox to a verified answer — the same path whether you found a density-table discrepancy or want a new tool added.

1

A Person Reads It

No ticket bot, no autoresponder loop. Messages with exact inputs are reproducible, and reproducible messages get answered first.

2

We Re-Run the Numbers by Hand

For anything numeric, we rebuild your calculation shape by shape against the geometry formulas, the density table, and the buffer math before replying.

3

You Get the Math Attached

The reply shows the formulas and the inputs that moved the number. If we were wrong, the reply says so plainly and the fix is dated on the page it affects.

4

Verified Fixes Go into the Data

Confirmed corrections feed the density, coverage, and delivery-fee tables the calculators read from, and strong feature requests feed the roadmap. Your email stays with your thread.

Quick Answers

The eight questions we hear most from homeowners, landscapers, and grading contractors.

One inbox per purpose keeps your message from bouncing between desks.
How do I get a faster reply?▼

Include the exact inputs: each area's shape and dimensions in feet, the material you selected, the compaction buffer preset, the truck and bag sizes, and any price per yard or ZIP code you entered — plus the result you expected versus the one shown. A screenshot of the calculator panel with your values filled in usually lets us reproduce and explain the difference in a single reply.

Do you offer live chat or phone support?▼

Not yet. Email lets us rebuild your calculation by hand and verify every answer against the shape geometry, the eleven-material density table, and the coverage chart before responding — which matters when the topic is an order a truck is about to deliver. We read every message and answer most within two business days.

Can you tell me exactly how much dirt my project needs?▼

We can tell you what the calculator's method says for the inputs you enter — and show every step behind it, from shape volume to buffered order quantity. But a real site has real conditions: depth that varies across the dig, loose-versus-compacted volume, and the settlement of whatever the fill sits on. Treat the computed yardage as the strong hypothesis and confirm it with the tape measure and your supplier before the truck is booked.

Why does my yardage differ from the supplier's quote?▼

Suppliers quote loose delivered yards and apply their own shrinkage rules of thumb — some assume ten percent, a few assume twenty-five for clay. Two figures for the same dig can differ by a full truckload and both be defensible under the assumptions each made. Compare the base volume, the buffer, and the density behind each number before comparing prices — the discrepancy is almost always in the assumptions, not the arithmetic.

Do you sell dirt, delivery, or hauling services?▼

No. The site sells nothing, carries no affiliate links to any supplier, hauler, or marketplace, and is not affiliated with any brand. Advertising is clearly labeled and separately handled — see the advertising section of the Privacy Policy for how that works.

Can I suggest a new calculator or feature?▼

Please do — that is how the toolset grows. Send the problem you were trying to solve, the site you were working with, and what you wished had been calculated for you. Requests that describe a real order or a real quote — 'can you add crushed gravel densities?' or 'can I mix two materials in one project?' — go to the top of the content queue.

Do you keep the calculations or screenshots I send you?▼

Only for as long as your thread is open. Whatever you include — inputs, screenshots, the result you expected — is used to reproduce the calculation and fix whatever you reported, then it is deleted. Your address is never added to a mailing list, because there is no mailing list, and nothing you send is shared with third parties.

Can I use the site's results in a customer quote or bid?▼

Yes — that is planning use, and it is what the tools are for. Run your own inputs, treat the output as your working figure, and verify it against the site conditions and the supplier's ticket before committing. What you may not do is present the output as an engineered grading plan or a stamped specification — the Disclaimer covers the line in detail.

Who You’re Writing To

Three facts about the people behind the inbox, so you know what kind of answer to expect.

Field-side experience

The answers are written by people who have watched a job come up four inches short and argued with a delivery ticket — replies speak plain, not legal.

Data checked by hand

Every numeric claim is re-derived against the shape geometry, the eleven-material density table, and the coverage chart before it is sent, not after.

No sales layer

There is nothing to upsell and no quota to hit — the site carries no products, so no reply ever ends in a pitch.

Everything Links Back to the Tool

Every answer we send names the exact calculator input that changes — the area dimensions, the material, the buffer preset, the truck size — so the fix is something you can apply yourself in seconds.
